of Research Interests. My research interests are in applied dynamical systems in biology and biochemistry, and in understanding the dynamics of complex interaction networks. I am interested in modeling, simulation, and analysis of biological systems and networks, the analysis of experimental data in biology, and the ways in which these topics can be brought together to answer questions in biology. My thesis is on the topic of polynomial dynamical models, an important class of models used to investigate problems that arise in various areas including biochemistry, cell biology, and ecology. In the context of biochemistry, the study of such models is often referred to as reaction network theory. Systems of polynomial differential equations have come into use in the modeling and simulation of large biochemical networks, population dynamics, and epidemiology [9][10]. The study of reaction and interaction network models is especially concerned with dynamical systems which have polynomial right-hand sides [11]. To analyze and understand such networks, interaction network theory seeks to draw conclusions from network properties that can be determined, such as structure and connectivity. Reaction networks are modeled with both stochastic and deterministic dynamical systems. In my work, I focus on deterministic models of reaction networks.
